Have you ever been in “the zone” of getting things done when your phone rings and you just want to scream? Or someone knocks on your door for you to find out they want to sell you the latest and greatest product? Think about how many times you turned the radio down when you are lost driving or when you actually had to stop walking with a friend when they asked you a very important question. We all need as few distractions and disruptions when we are working hard including our students when they are learning.
As the last quarter is in action I wanted to remind all parents of two keys rules that keep our school running well, a safe place, as well as a quality learning environment.
1. No parent is allowed to “drop-in” unannounced to see their child or their child’s teacher. Your child can always be called to the front office for you at any time.
2. All parents during the hours of 7:30-4:30 must stop by the front office and sign in to go anywhere on our school campus. No parent can go down at any time unannounced to their child’s classroom.
School policies are necessary to support our children’s learning environment. It is a rarity now when a parent is frustrated that they can’t go down to their child’s classroom because the word is out that we don’t want to disrupt their learning environment and I personally appreciate all of you for supporting these two rules. At Lockhart we always work together to provide the strongest learning environment for our students.
