For this month’s article I would like to focus on three things I need for all staff and families to focus on doing for the safety of us all: Badges, Procedures, and Connecting.
Badges
All adults on campus, including all staff, must have a badge of identification on them at all times. This is vital. For parents this means every time you come on campus you must stop by the front office and sign in and receive and wear the badge. Our staff has been instructed to stop any adult on campus without a badge. Please if you are directed by our staff to go to the office to sign in they are doing this for the safety of all of our students and staff. Wearing a badge is for all events that occur between 8am-4pm at our school.
Procedures
Each year our staff spend hours upon hours reviewing old and learning new procedures. We send out all procedures we can share with you through our Lockhart Student Handbook and WCPSS student handbook. Currently we are working on making both documents retrievable off our website. If you would like an extra copy of either handbook please contact Ms. Frazier, our receptionist.
Connecting
I know you deeply care about your child as we do your student. Make sure you are always connecting with your child, your child’s teacher, and our school. The two easiest ways to do that is by sharing with us your email as well as your most current phone number. If you do not receive our Tuesday Phone Messages you need to call Ms. Frazier and have her check your numbers.
I am as lucky as you are because you and I both get to interact with the best staff in Wake County Public Schools. Make sure as adults we make our students and our staff feel safe at all times by focusing on Badges, Procedures, and Connecting. Daniel Zoller- Principal
